The new bridge accommodates two-way traffic
ORLANDO, Fla., OCT. 21, 2008 – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) opened the new Anderson Street bridge over I-4 in downtown Orlando to two-way traffic early this morning. Crews also opened a new ramp from Anderson Street to eastbound I-4.
Anderson Street now accommodates two-way traffic from Division Avenue to Boone Avenue. Westbound Anderson Street traffic now also has direct access to the City Commons parking garage via a new ramp. Traffic from the parking garage can exit directly onto westbound Anderson Street.
The I-4/SR 408 Interim Interchange project is the interstate’s largest roadway project in Central Florida to date. It is a partnership between FDOT and the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority. The project, which began April 3, 2006, has added a flyover ramp from each direction of SR 408 to eastbound I-4 which have reduced bottlenecks and decreased travel time for commuters. FDOT anticipates completing the project this fall. For more information, call the toll-free Trans4mation number at (888) 454-4884.
